The replacement of Parallel Motion Fenders at Burnie Berth 4 was undertaken with the installation and commissioning of two new Super Cone Fenders.
With the wharf constructed in 1890 and with few construction details available, the project teams needed to show agility and prepared to action several design changes, given the condition and construction issues that were uncovered along the way.
This project has not only delivered a much-improved fendering system, it has also contributed to the longevity of the asset and a better understanding of the berth overall.
