The Batchelor Construction Group have recently completed a significant milestone for the South Arm Water Pipe Line, with the installation of a 600mt long pipe through a drill shot from Algona Street, Halfmoon Bay into the River Derwent sea bed. The drill shot was completed by our partners DirectHitt, the HDPE pipe welding by Tas Aqua Engineering, divers from Tasmanian Divers Group and marine vessels and support provided by Ambush Marine.
The collective team made for a flawless installation of an extremely difficult process.
The second drill shot at the Blackmans Bay Treatment Plant, together with the submerging to the sea floor of the remaining pipeline across the River Derwent, connecting to the South Arm section, is programmed for completion around the end of 2023.
